Grandma’s
Beefy- Rice stew
I like to think of this old –
fashioned cooking made for today’s busy families, You can get that “grandma-made”
flavor much less time!
Serves 4(1 ½ cups)
8 ounces extra – lean ground
sirloin beef turkey breast
1 cup chopped onion
1 (8- ounce) can tomato
sauce
1 (15- ounce) can diced
tomatoes, undrained
1 ½ cups reduced – sodium
tomato juice
1 ½ tablespoons
Worcestershire sauce
2 cups shredded cabbage
2/3 cup uncooked instant
rice
2 tablespoons SPLENDA
Granular
1 ½ teaspoons dried
parsley flakes
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
In a large saucepan sprayed with
butter – flavored cooking spray, brown meat and onion. Stir in tomato sauce, undrained tomatoes,
tomato juice and Worcestershire sauce. Add cabbage uncooked instant rice,
SPLENDA, parsley flakes, and black pepper. Mix well to combine Lower heat,
cover, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until cabbage and rice are tender,
stirring occasionally.
