Cliff’s Applesauce Bars

Cliff’s Applesauce Bars

I’ve layered the apple flavor in these fragrant delights, and my husband, cliff, thinks they are just the perfect snack along with a tall glass of milk! Make sure you choose a brand of apple juice with no added sugar- read labels!

Serves 8 (2 each)

1 ¼ cups reduced – fat biscuit baking mix
¼ cup quick oats
¼ cup + 2 tablespoons SPLENDA Granular
1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
½ cup seedless raisins
¼ cup chopped walnuts
1 ½ cups unsweetened applesauce
2 tablespoons no fat sour cream

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 7-by-11-inch biscuit pan with butter – flavored cooking spray. In a large bowl, combine baking mix, oats, ¼ cup SPLENDA , and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Stir in raisins and walnuts. In a small bowl, combine applesauce and sour cream. Add applesauce mixture to baking mix mixture. Mix gently just to combine. Spread batter evenly sprinkle mixture over top. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Place pan on a wire rack and allow to cool completely. Cut into 16 bars.
